Another Ride on the Isle of Wight
Following the success of our first ‘RIDE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT’ video. ‘ANOTHER RIDE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT’ gives you even more delights of bus travel from a bygone age.
This video programme features, amongst other things, the annual ‘Running Day’ organised by the Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum, which took place on a sunny day in October 2000. You can ‘ride’ on Bristol FLF 611 (CDL479C) to Cowes and back. Also take a ‘ride’ on 203 a Bristol LHS, and see the ‘visitors’ in action as well. Lodekka 563 also takes to the road, so why not come along for another ‘ride’! We briefly chart the adventures ‘overseas’ of vehicles from the Museum, when they visited the Southsea and Winchester rallies.
To bring things up to date – we feature some of the operations of Southern Vectis during the summer of 2000. Then make a return trip to see the new liveries, and open-top offering for the 2001 season.
To finish off, there is a chance to look around the Museum – better still, come and have a look for yourself – and remember buying this video helps the Museum.
A special thank you to Richard Newman for the cine film used in this programme and thanks also go to the Museum for making most of this video possible.
